About Sister Project and other synergies
Sister project BIO²
BIO² — Natural Solutions for Organic Farming
BIO² is a Horizon Europe Innovation Action helping organic farmers reduce reliance on contentious inputs, such as copper, and sulfur-based fungicides, synthetic fertilizers from conventional livestock farming, and pharmaceuticals like antibiotics and anthelmintics used in the treatment of animals in organic farming.
By transforming underused natural resources into effective bio-based alternatives, BIO² supports the European Green Deal and the EU Farm to Fork Strategy – advancing sustainable, circular, and resilient food systems.
BIO² develops natural solutions across three key areas
- Microbial Crop Protection to support plant’s natural resilience through beneficial yeasts and bacteria, together with algal extract
- Bio-based Fertilizers providing balanced nutrition without pesticide residues and reducing dependency on conventional, animal-based inputs
- Natural Animal Health Products reducing the need for antibiotics and anthelmintics and protecting animal welfare, soils, and ecosystems
All BIO² products are tested under real organic farming conditions to ensure safety, efficacy, and scalability.
